R Voice strives to create a safe and supportive space where researchers help each other navigate the ups and downs of academic life by sharing problems, advice, guidance, and experiences. We need your help to keep R Voice as valuable, authentic, and safe as possible.
Here are some basic community guidelines. These guidelines establish the boundaries for the content and behavior expected from community members:
Be expressive: Share your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Don’t let the challenges and frustrations of academic life weigh you down. Ask questions, start discussions, talk to each other.
Be supportive. Encourage and support your fellow members. No one here is looking for your criticism, cynicism, or judgement. (The online world abounds in judgements and harsh opinions – we’re here to steer clear of those.).
Share generously. Your stories and experiences may be exactly what another member needs to hear today to solve a problem or seize an opportunity.
Be constructive. You’re here because you believe that as researchers, we can all push each other forward and lift each other up. Find ways to help each other think bigger, reframe challenges, and stay curious.
Have fun. Meet new people, exchange views, share images and videos, and motivate each other. Have loads of fun and laughter – this is a great way to relieve stress and help make your worries fly away!
Don’t spam, promote, or troll. This community exists to help you learn. It’s not a place to spam, promote your services, or troll anyone else.
Respect personal information. We strictly follow a no-doxxing policy. Do not misuse or disclose others’ personal information personal information without their permission.
Be ethical. We support an ethical approach in all aspects of research and publication. Refrain from encouraging or recommending unethical practices such as sharing copyrighted material, advocating unauthorized downloads, or any other form of research or publication malpractices.
Be nice. Abusive or discriminatory language of any kind is not really helpful for anyone. It’s absolutely okay to disagree with someone or share a strong personal opinion. But it’s absolutely not okay to intentionally use abusive language or discriminate on any basis.
Hopefully, these should be easy agreements. If you think you’ll be unable to abide by these guidelines, let me know and we’ll be happy to remove you from the platform.
We're glad you’re here!
